Nestled in the Old Village in Mount Pleasant this beautiful garden affords a secret pool, fountain and fireplace in the back.

This extraordinary garden is low maintenance so we created and installed metal edging with Pea Gravel Bed in the Front Elevation that held an Oversized Urn/Pedestal filled with huge pops of color, texture and form that complemented the two Hanging Baskets that offered a dangling array of color as well. This is a classic, simple, timeless garden that offers the most incredible southern plant materials that included Italian Cypress, Yews, Boxwoods, Gardenias, Camellia espaliers that were attached to newly built custom wooden frames with wiring for the tight space by the Driveway. In the Rear Elevation Courtyard, we added a beautiful Brick Patio pattern, a lovely period Water Fountain that was placed on center so be enjoyed from the interior windows. We planted a Magnolia, Japanese Maple, Foster Holly and a unique Magnolia ‘Jane’ espalier underplanted with Gardenias, Roses, Dwarf Mondo Grass. My client enjoyed cooking so we added an herb planting stand for easy accessibility to the kitchen. We chose a Classic Iron ‘Summer Classics’ Outdoor Seating to include a Love Seat, Cocktail Tables and Two Chairs. Absolutely breathtaking…One of my very favorite gardens ever!!!

A complete historic garden renovation was completed in great anticipation of their niece’s wedding so it was filled with an exquisite selection of white Ornamental evergreen shrubs in the Rear Elevation Courtyard. The clients worked tirelessly to renovate the home’s interior that is a dream so the garden needed to reflect their lifestyle and beauty that lies within so we planted Six majestic Palmetto Palms to flank the restored classic water fountain that adds verticality, privacy and interest from interior views as well as a wonderful sound component. Dogwoods, Redbuds, Japanese Maples and Crape Myrtles, Butterfly Bushes, Azaleas, Ferns and two Focal Point Urns offer an abundant array of texture, color and form throughout the garden. In the Front Elevation Courtyard, an exquisite Japanese Maple ‘Bloodgood’ in planted on center of the Pea gravel bed that is anchored with Boxwood ‘Little Gem’s that adds connectivity throughout the garden. Of course, this historic Charleston home’s entrance is complete with Confederate Jasmine covering the Iron Fence, Yews, Gardenias, Hydrangeas and Fragrant Tea Olives. The piazza overlooks a driveway that has very little planting possibilities so we planted several Espaliered Camellias to soften the stucco wall, flanked by Evergreen Clematis and anchored by Giant Liriope. Absolutely breathtaking!

This is Beautiful home in the Old Village of Mount Pleasant, SC. When my team and I arrived, there were builder grade plantings and the home owners wanted elements of a classical historic Charleston garden with modern clean lines to go with a new pool for the back yard. We designed an inviting space for the rear fire pit seating area with a pea gravel circle, enclosed by beautiful plantings. We brought in new sod for the entire property and widened the existing driveway. A white stucco wall and white picket fence were built for the arrival sequence. We also built a bluestone patio for dining and an elegant, modern travertine walkway from the back of the house to the pool deck.
